On the one hand it’s a very simple concept and a silly bit of fun.
On the other hand it’s an immersive experience for the visitor, as well as a platform for animators to showcase work that would otherwise go unseen by the general public.

Animation Director Matt Partridge curates a selection of his shorts and those of his favourite fellow creatives, all under the banner of ‘nostalgia.’

The Cardiff Animation Weekender 2025 will take place over the weekend of 17–18 May as a celebration of animated filmmaking and retro animation nostalgia. We will be hosting a hybrid festival across multiple venues in Cardiff and online 17 May – 1 June.
