Show Your Work in the One Bum Cinema

One Bum in Bradford.png

A tiny cinema with room for your ideas

One Bum Cinema Club is a travelling one seat cinema that introduces audiences to independent animation they may never have seen before. We champion both emerging and established animators by sharing short form work in a playful, intimate setting that encourages curiosity and discovery.

If you create short animations and want your work to reach new audiences, we would love to hear from you.

What we show

We specialise in short form animation. Anything from GIFs to micro films can be included, as long as it is under three minutes. Shorter pieces work well because they allow us to showcase lots of artists in one day.

If it is animated and under three minutes, it can find a home in the cinema.

We have showcased a whole host of brilliant animators and studios including Leanne Rule, Laurie Rowan, Animade, Will Anderson, Lolly Studios and Aj Jeffries. We would love to add your work to the mix.

How programming works

Every screening is different. The cinema is set up to play a new show reel each time a visitor presses the little red button, which means we can show lots of animations in one day and audiences always see something fresh.

Our show reels are curated from:

  • Direct submissions

  • Collaborations with studios and artists

  • Festival submissions

  • Work we discover and reach out for when time allows

We also invite animators to curate their own selections for special events.

Why submit your work?

Sharing your animation in One Bum Cinema Club helps your work reach audiences who may never encounter independent animation online. The cinema appears at festivals, galleries, libraries, museums and community events across the UK, giving your work visibility in places where people are open to trying something new.

It is a simple, joyful way to connect with viewers, and a meaningful platform for emerging talent.

Submission guidelines

Your animation should be:

  • Under three minutes

  • Your own original work

  • Suitable for public screening

  • Provided as a high quality file

We accept work from animators at all stages of their careers.
